In the near future, surveillance drones have inherited a dead world. The last human survivors of the final conflict have vanished, existing as ghosts on the network, replicating themselves as a virus, and seeking to control the few remaining computer systems in the hopes of studying and saving the lifeless planet.

Urbandy’s latest album is a dark dystopian vision of the future. Far from the naive optimism of silicon valley, positing instead an out-of-control freefall—the wholesale destruction of the environment coupled with the continued use of automated weapons of terror and the emergence of artificial intelligence as a security system.

EXIT's distinct retro style is a love letter to the early-1980s computer and synthesizer craze—and the unmistakable analog electronic soundscapes of the pre-cyberpunk synthtopia.
